The Official Opening of the Tisamed Honey Processing and Packaging Plant

Tisamed's new honey processing and packaging plant, inaugurated with support from the Hungarian Government, will boost the local economy by providing sustenance for beekeepers and their families. The plant's expansion and integration activities are set to advance the beekeeping industry in Vojvodina, ensuring quality honey for domestic and overseas markets.

Tisamed's New Honey Processing and Packaging Plant

On March 12, 2019, the new honey processing and packaging plant belonging to Tisamed, a part of the Magyarkanizsa-based Tisacoop Kft., was officially inaugurated. This significant investment was made possible in recent years with the financial support of the Hungarian Government and the Prosperitati Foundation. The expansion included an additional 2,000 square meters and over 3,000 pallet spaces, enhancing the logistical capacity. Moreover, a honey plant with a capacity of 1000 tons per year was established to purchase and process a significant portion of the honey produced by beekeepers in Vojvodina.

Expansion and Integration

With the completion of the honey plant at the end of last year, equipped with its own laboratory to ensure the quality of the purchased honey, Tisamed signed contracts with nearly 200 beekeepers, procuring 170 tons of honey in the past year. The integrator contracts provide the beekeepers with guaranteed prices and timely sales of their honey, thus contributing to the growth and sustainability of their livelihoods. The plant has a capacity of a thousand tons and is poised to export Vojvodina honey overseas alongside domestic sales.

Investment and Impact

Károly Körmöci, Deputy Director of Tisacoop Kft., emphasized that the entire investment, which began in 2017, exceeded 3 million euros. The expansion of the warehouse capacity by over 2000 square meters and more than 3000 pallet spaces demonstrates a substantial logistical background and capacity enhancement.

Official Inauguration and Dignitaries

The official inauguration was attended by Dr. István Nagy, the Hungarian Minister of Agriculture, who regarded the developments in Vojvodina over the past three years as a paradigm shift. He highlighted the positive impact of the honey plant and its integration activities, uniting nearly 200 beekeepers and contributing to the development of the economy by providing sustenance for 200 families.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted by Dr. István Nagy, Hungarian Minister of Agriculture, István Pásztor, President of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, Károly Körmöci, Deputy Director of Tisacoop Kft., and Zoltán Körmöci, Director of Development and Export at Tisacoop Kft. The event was graced by the presence of various provincial and local government officials.

Future Prospects

The presence of numerous provincial and municipal dignitaries at the official opening signifies the importance of this new facility. It is anticipated that the new plant will not only contribute to the further development of the company but also play a crucial role in advancing the beekeeping industry in Vojvodina.
